Friendships, Encouragement, Community, Belonging... Have you Discovered Community? That is why we have a co-op. This is what our co-op is all about.
ELCC was founded in 2009 by a small group of families and has grown to serve hundreds of families through the years. This has only been possible through the dedication and support of our member families and our community. Completion of this form is requesting membership in this community and embracing the community and mission of ELCC.
Co-op classes are on winter break from roughly Thanksgiving through Valentine's Day. This break helps families have LOTS of time for the holidays and family events and gatherings, time off to reset after the holidays, and even time away during cold and flu season. Basketball and Cheer season runs from November 7 - Feb 28 and coincides nicely with this break. Aside from learning and enjoying the sport, the primary purpose of our basketball program is to offer a place for socialization and connection. Many students build closer friendships, and families get to know each other in a smaller setting through this ministry. Please plan to attend a parent information meeting on Thursday, November 7th, at 4 p.m. in the Cornerstone Church gym at 4905 Jacksontown Rd. Heath, Ohio.
In accordance with guidance from the OHSAA for player safety, practices do not start until November 7 and will be held 2 days per week. Games begin in December (with time off for Christmas), and total practice/game days will not exceed 3 days per week. Games are typically on Tuesday evening, Saturday mornings for 3rd/4th & 5th/6th, or late afternoon/early evening for girls or Sunday afternoon between 1-5 pm for Junior high and high school boys. All practices are at Cornerstone Church of Licking County, and all games are within a 30-minute drive of the co-op.
It is our goal to give every student a great season of play. Cheer will have one day of practice and one day of games - they will be cheering at our Tuesday evening games.
The 3rd/4th and 5th/6th teams will have one day per week of practice and one day per week of games.
Students in the 7th grade and older will play on either a JV team (which is typically 7th/8th graders in our group) or on the Varsity team. Games are split between Tuesday evenings and Sunday afternoons between 1-5pm. Teams will have between 13- 15 games each and a tournament. We have both boys and girls teams.
Any student can play at ELCC because we are club teams. Potential members should review this registration to determine if ELCC is a good fit for them. PLEASE NOTE: ELCC plays in a league and participates in league games, standings, tournaments, and scouting in high school. Any high school player should ONLY play for ONE ENTITY as it could make you ineligible for the season everywhere if you play for both ELCC and your local public school and in another league.
Our Mission
We are a home school community of students and families who desire to glorify God by uplifting, encouraging, equipping, and supporting home-educating families to disciple young men and women of character, influencing the world for Jesus Christ.
